I came up with the idea of a Looking Sideways tombola, a way to get festival go-ers to try things that that wouldn't usually do at the festival; a lucky dip with talks, exhibitions, performances and activities to go to. To put this tombola in context I worked with David to build the 'Sideways Sideshow' a series of interactive activities. These included a steady hand buzz wire, a series of kaleidoscopes, a pair of distorting mirrors and a series of copper tubular bells.
The Looking Sideways tombola was used by an enthusiastic 2000 people during the festival weekend and the Sideways Sideshow was a constant attraction day and night, by both the young and old.
